*Once you use the keys, you cannot use them again.
*Support tickets do get answered, they're just often slow.
*No record of your character names is made, but you may have done so if you took screenshots.

People are idiots. NCsoft does answer support tickets. Occassionally, it takes some time. Usually you will get at least a human response in a day or so with an automated response in the first 20 minutes. You can shorten the whole convo and back and forth between you and support by formatting the email well.
In the subject line put:
LOST CHARACTER NAME
In the body put the email adress and cd keys you have for your account.
Be polite. Honestly while they aren't supposed to be slower for people who are being assholes. They will because who wants to help someone like that.
Expect it to take a day or two. Keep in mind. It's the holidays. If they do have any support working it's probably only a few people. No one want's to work and no company wants to pay triple overtime.
Also. If you took any screenshots. Those will be in your screenshot folder.
Marty only beat me cause mine was more in-depth

Sadly, no screenshots. Didn't really play that long.
Thanks for the info both of you. I guess I'll just have to wait, and keep trying to guess the name.
On that note, though, is there a limit on failed attempts? I don't want to lock myself out...

Do the support ticket thing and it should all sort out for you, it may take a few days (or longer during holidays) but don't give up just yet.

We've had people post things on here like "I sent in a support ticket 2 hours ago and I haven't gotten a response yet!!!" In reality support is usually quite busy and things will normally take a few days to get straightened out.

Not on your end. For future reference, next time you get into the game, take a screen shot with your character's name in it.

No, you can't create a new account, but, as End says, you can contact support and get your character name from them.

I know how you feel. I opened a ticket on the same issue on 12/29 and have not got my char name yet. The last response i received from them was on 12/30 that it was being escalated to the senior staff. I have asked for a status update but have not heard anything. Wonder how long i should wait before i open another ticket. Any advice guys. Thanks.

For *bleep* sake. It's Christmas/Yuletide/New Years. Do you really think that the few people working at NCsoft support during the holidays are going to make finding your character name a priority?
My advice - well, it is Jan 4th, so it might be nice to get a status update, but you've probably pissed them off by now. Maybe send them a kindly worded request today or tomorrow.

lol bleep. And you call yourself a quaker.
Anyways yeah if they have had anyone on it's been bare minimum. Add onto that the fact that it's wintersday. So you have:
Added bot reports from snowball AT's
Added Scam reports from the numerous wintersday scams
Added Account issues like this from people comming back to the game after awhile.
And your bound to have a backlog. They just came back the second or third to a full staff. Give them some time to get in and get caught up.

No, I don't call myself "a" Quaker.
(Actually, I'm an atheist.)
Unless you consider Quaker to be short for Earthquake, or someone who makes you shake with fear.

If you look closely, I've even added a red "A" to my avatar. I've thought about changing my "handle", but I've had it since the 1980s and it amuses me whem people get confused by it.

I have had a very good experience with NCsoft customer support a couple days ago.
I realized that I forgot my NCsoft master account info, because it was made 4 years ago, by my brother, who bought the account but stopped playing like 3,5years ago. I was 13 at the time and didn't think it was important in any way, so I didn't bother.. But now, with GW2 coming up, I realized I might need that info to link the two accounts, so I mailed NCsoft about the matter and provided them with all the info they required, and they helped me out very fast and very good, they even provided info like my IG character name I would need to logg in although I said I've played for the whole 4 years+ of my account being active.
So, just send them a nicely written mail, explain the situation, provide them with info like your activation key, email, etc and they will most certainly help you out. My problem was solved the day after I think, with 3 mails being sent, my original one, response asking for some additional info and then another mail of mine to thank them for their help.
EDIT: this was 6 and 7 januari, so no idea how long you are going to have to wait.
